Scale models related to the arrival of the man on the moon, framed into the project «Design and Ergonomics; 50 years of the Apollo XI Mission » conducted by vidiaLab and Fab Lab MVD, FADU, both having applied to the “Small Grants Application” of the United States Embassy in Uruguay.

On the basis of the upcoming 50th anniversary of the landing of man on the Moon, which will take place in July 2019, the School of Architecture, Design and Urbanism (FADU-Udelar) proposes a series of academic and cultural activities that will highlight the importance of that fact and the influence it continues to have on contemporary design.

One of the main focuses of this project is the survival cabin of the Lunar Excursion Module (LEM), for which a 1:1 scale model will be built within the scope of Fab Lab MVD Digital Fabrication Lab, for which different techniques of augmented reality and videomapping will be applied.

In 2018 we also celebrate the 50th anniversary of the film “2001: A Space Odyssey” so the exhibition proposes a parallel between both reality and fiction.
